Located in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn NY, I explore how soft architecture and layering can support both privacy and community in a temporary, quasi-domestic setting of a women’s shelter.
Degrees of intimacy, through visual, acoustic, and tactile means, are made adjustable to accommodate changing individual and group needs, enabling users to co-create a comfortable and well-lit environment within as institutional setting.
